Visiting Guide
- Visiting hours
- Our reception desk for your visit is open from dawn to dusk (around 5:00 am to 5:00 pm). ※Restrictions may occur depending on the temple event.
- Offering fee
- 500 JPY
- Group Visits
- We welcome group visits such as school excursions and study tours. We can also provide guidance in accordance with the time spent at the temple. Please contact us by telephone.
- Goshuin

- 300 JPY
If you do not have a Goshuin book, we will provide you a paper copy.
- Goshuin Book

- 2,000 JPY
If you purchase our Goshuin book, you will receive free admission the next time of your visit.

On weekends, national holidays, and during special viewing seasons, the "Koshoji Shuttle Bus" operates from 10:00 to 16:00 between Koshoji - JR Uji Station - Keihan Uji Station, and Koshoji Temple. Please feel free to use this service. However, please note that we may not be able to respond to your request depending on the operating conditions.
Public transportation
When coming from Keihanshin Area
By JR
Take the JR Nara Line (Miyakoji Rapid) from JR Kyoto Station to Uji Station. About 20 minutes walk.
By Keihan Train
From Gion-Shijo Station or Sanjo Station, take the Keihan Main Line (express) to Chushojima Station, transfer to the Keihan Uji Line and get off at Uji Station. About 15 minutes walk.
When coming from Nara City
JR "Nara Station
Take the JR Nara Line (Miyakoji Rapid) from JR Nara Station to Uji Station. About 20 minutes walk.
By Car
When coming from Osaka Area
Meishin Expressway
From Meishin Expressway "Oyamazaki JCT" to Keiji Bypass, get off at "Uji-Nishi IC", and drive about 25 minutes.
When coming from the Nagoya Area
Meishin Expressway or New Meishin Expressway
From Meishin Expressway or New Meishin Expressway "Setahigashi JCT" to Keiji Bypass, get off at "Ujihigashi IC" and drive about 25 minutes.
